Users cannot access Kingston DataTraveler Vault Privacy Edition USB password protected sticks on Windows 7 computers

DESCRIPTION

On Windows 7 computers with DeviceLock Service installed and running, when a user enters the password and tries to get access to Kingston DataTraveler Vault Privacy Edition USB stick using its assigned drive letter, the following error is returned: "Please insert a disk into Removable Disk (drive_letter:)". This happens even if full access to all types of ports and devices was set for Everyone in DeviceLock Service's settings.

On Windows XP computers, this issue does not occur.

COMMENTS

This issue is solved in DeviceLock version 7.1.34908.

RECOMMENDATIONS

1. Please upgrade to DeviceLock version 7.1.34908.

2. Disable the "DeviceLock Service -> Service Options -> Encryption -> Windows BitLocker To Go" parameter to access password protected Kingston DataTraveler Vault Privacy Edition USB stick on Windows 7 computers.

*Please note that by default, this parameter is enabled, so you should disable it explicitly, not leaving it in "Not configured" state.
