Configuration - Resolving Monitoring Message (7045)

DESCRIPTION

A Monitoring task stops returning the ‘Unable to obtain the service uptime - you must have administrative privileges to perform this operation (7045)’ error logged in Monitoring Log Viewer.

COMMENTS

The issue may indicate that ‘DeviceLock Administrators’ feature is enabled for computers controlled by DeviceLock Service, while the account used to start DeviceLock Enterprise Server (and to connect to monitored computers) lacks special DeviceLock Administrators privileges to access DeviceLock agents, which makes it impossible to successfully connect to them, and to gather the information.

RECOMMENDATIONS

The account used to start DeviceLock Enterprise Server (and to connect to monitored computers) must be granted special DeviceLock Administrators privileges on the monitored computers. Make sure it has at least ‘Read-only’ privileges.

If a Monitoring task is configured to overwrite settings of monitored computers controlled by DeviceLock (see ‘Restore Service Settings’ checkbox selected in  ‘Verify Service Settings’ parameter of the current task), then ‘Full control’ privileges are required to access the monitored computers.

Another way to ensure successful authentication is to use DeviceLock Certificate for it. When using DeviceLock Certificate, install its private key on DeviceLock Enterprise Server, and the public key to monitored computers.

For more information, check DeviceLock User Manual for the description of ‘Log on as’ and ‘Certificate Name’ parameters.
