High CPU load and disk usage when burning and shadowing a CD/DVD
High CPU load and disk usage when burning and shadowing a CD/DVD. The symptoms are:
- When a CD/DVD is burnt, and shadowing for CD/DVD is enabled DeviceLock Service still loads CPU;
- DeviceLock Service I/O Write data size is larger than the original burning data size, and never stops growing.
As a CD/DVD gets burnt, DeviceLock shadows raw data, amount of which is significantly larger (about 2.5-3 times) than that of the original CD/DVD. As burning process completes, DeviceLock performs post-processing to create an image from the data. The side-effect is: heavily loaded CPU.
The process of shadowing a CD/DVD is time- and resource-consuming, - the behavior is normal for DeviceLock. You can either ignore it, or disable shadowing for CD/DVD. Nevertheless, we are constantly improving the algorythm of CD/DVD shadowing, so make sure you use the latest version of the product.
