Hi,

we are evaluating Devicelock software (6.2, build 10587) and I can't manage how to set it up to transfer audit and shadow logs to server autmatically.
The logs on workstations are filled immediatelly, but the data are not appeared on server unless I force logs transfer from workstation ("Send data to server") - then it works.
The other question is what happens if user copy large amount of data and disconnects from network before shadow log is completly transferred to server (via slow WAN network) ?

Thanks in advance !

Are there any errors in Server Log Viewer or warnings looking like "Collecting data from *** failed " ?

The data will be saved on a local computer in Local Storage directory. When connection is reestablished, the Service will retry to send the data to Server.

There are no errors, just successfull events about collecting data after accepting request from workstation ("Send Data To Server").
But, if I don't force "Send data to server", the log stays on workstation.

About second question, that means the Service will retry to send data from begining, or it will continue where it was interrupted ?

Try to take any actions, so that the new data in Event and Shadow logs appeared on the client machine, but don't force its transfer to server. Wait for some time (~1 minute or 2) and see the Server log Viewer then once more. Look for the records like "Collecting data from *** started/failed "

The large files (such as 1 GB) are devided into blocks (about 200 Mb) and the data transfering will continue from the block it was interrupted.

I already did that, I can see logs stored locally, on remote machine, through devicelock manager, and that log is updated on time.
But, the service on workstation did not initiate collecting data on server. Is there any flag or something that triggers collecting data ?

Thanks for the answer on my second question Smile

When some new data appears on the client , DL Service starts to ping DL Server every 60 seconds to send the data. You can create the following key in registry to change this parameter (in milliseconds):

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SmartLine Vision\DeviceLock

ShadowPingInterval

Try to change it and see, if this helps to solve the problem.

It didn't allow me to enter a new key, regardless I log on as admin or user, but somehow it starts to work, first on one workstation and after hour or two on another.
Today I join the third workstation and again, it is NOT transfering logs on server.
I beleive I have to wait a few hours, but WHY ?
