I cannot connect to any of the PC's on the network to install the service. I have tried both the Local admin and the domain admin passwords but neither work and I get an Initbinding Error (5) I have turned off the firewall on the PC.
I then install the service manually on the PC but still cannot connect to manage it. |

Try to connect to the 'problem' PC via Computer Management utility. |

I have done and I can connect to Computer management, C$ and Admin$ without having to enter a username and password.

1. Check whether the 'Remote Registry' service is started at the computer.
2. Check whether the 'Simple File Sharing' option is off. |

It looks like some Firewall is blocking access to DeviceLock Service.
To diagnose and solve RPC errors, you should go through these steps: 1. Download PortQry from Microsoft's website: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/de...laylang=en 2. Run PortQry from the command line on your local computer (where you run the DeviceLock management console from): PortQry.exe -n <name of remote computer> -e 135 -l log.txt where <name of remote computer> - is the name or IP address of the remote computer where DeviceLock Service is running but you can't connect to it from your local computer. 3. Send us this log.txt file. With best wishes, Ashot. |
