Hi, I'm currently deploying devicelock 7.0.1.29555.
I've deployed the software by choosing several OUs within Enterprise Manager, naturally though approx 20% of the computers were off. If I choose these same OUs next week to try and get the computers which were off, will the software only reinstall on machines which don't already have DeviceLock installed or will DeviceLock be re-installed on all machines? Thanks |

DeviceLock will install on all machines selected when using the Install Service plug-in of the DeviceLock Enterprise Manager. It is not a problem if some of the machines already have the service installed, as it will simply overlay the existing service with the "new" service being pushed and will not result in changes to service settings already in place on those machines. (it will treat those machines much like an "upgrade" even though the service version is the same.)

I done a quick test and it seems to start the installation before detecting an installation is alreday there and then backing out. To be honest it would be nicer of the installer checked firstly before even starting it's MSI install. Question resolved anyhow, thanks. |
