Every five to 30 minutes minutes I am seeing the following error reported 2 to 4 times in the System event log:
Source: Service Control Manager Category: None Type: Error Event ID: 7028 Description: The Device Lock Registry key denied access to SYSTEM account programs so the Service Control Manager took ownership of the registry key. We are distributing DeviceLock via the GPO. The error happens on domain controllers, servers, and clients. Running Windows 2003 Standard R2 SP2 on the servers and domain controllers, Windows XP SP3 on the clients. DeviceLock 6.41 Any ideas? |

In 6.4.1 the DeviceLock Administrators functionality was upgraded, and this is the effect (not affecting DeviceLock, system, or any third-party applicatons properties). The message is quite logical, since DeviceLock blocks access to related registry keys. You can ignore the records. |

It creates a problem for automated tools which report errors in the event log. System Managers don't like seeing a flood of errors when looking for problems on a system.
How can we disable the "Administrators" functionality? |

See the User Manual - the "Devicelock Administrators" section. With best wishes, Ashot. |
